Join Our Upcoming Info Session for the SPP Expansion Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

Applications to join the Seattle Preschool Program for the 2023-24 school year are due January 18.

Last week, DEEL announced the opening of a new Request for Qualifications (RFQ) opportunity to solicit applications from qualified early learning providers in Seattle for the opportunity to join the Seattle Preschool Program (SPP), funded by the Families, Education, Preschool, and Promise (FEPP) Levy. An information session for interested applicants will be held this week to share details around the opportunity and review eligibility and application guidelines.

DEEL has up to $2 million available to contract for approximately six new SPP classrooms for the 2023-24 school year, which may include any combination of the following:

  • Classroom expansion through new providers identified through this RFQ
  • Classroom expansion through existing SPP providers
  • Direct contracting with eligible entities

This RFQ is intended for center-based programs (including programs operating in Seattle Public Schools buildings) and new agencies not currently contracted with the Seattle Preschool Program. Existing SPP providers will receive separate instructions for applying. Family Child Care (FCC) programs interested in participating in SPP should contact one of SPP’s FCC Hub administrators (Child Care Resources or Tiny Tots Early Learning Collaborative).

More information and application materials for this Request for Qualifications are available on DEEL’s website. Applications are due January 18, 2023, by 5:00 PM.

The overarching goal of FEPP Levy Early Learning investments is to ensure that Seattle students have access to and utilize high-quality early learning services that promote success in kindergarten. Under the FEPP Levy, the Seattle Preschool Program is on track to serve 2,500 children by the 2025-2026 school year.

Please note: Changes to the funding process and timeline may occur. DEEL will not provide individual notice of changes, and applicants are responsible for regularly checking the SPP RFQ link via our Funding Opportunities web page for technical assistance information, updates, clarifications, or amendments.
